Well after spending the last week in the Hospital in UT with DAD I came back to Hot and Humid Houston and needed a break. What better time to spend relaxing then fishing. Met together with my Bro in Law, Keith, to hit the salt. Weather cams looked absolutely beautiful Friday Morning…SO Packed up and out we went. About the Galveston causeway the wind picked up and made me a little nervous. About the time we were wheels to sand the wind must have been 15 – 20 knots. Surf was 2-3 but not too bad. We met up at Rettilon road (No Litter Backwards) and fished the protected side of the boat wreck.. The waves were pretty choppy, but we had a small section of calmer water. We anchored up and got some good talking going on.
One of my friends Mythman working his MOJO to get the fish to run!
Keith my bro-in-law was on his first BTB trip and the waves made for a tough day. He did good under some difficult waves. Here’s a pic of him rigging his hook
Bite was slow, had a few runs and then dropped the bait. Needed to let the fish run with it a bit more Friday, but soon pulled one in the boat.
This is the same fish, but a hold the fish up with one hand and take the picture with the other. This technique may one day qualify as an Olympic event….it was a bit tricky!
Mythman then pulled in a red and had some runs as well. IT was a little rough for a trip, but we squeaked out a few fish, so a good day.
Pics don’t really do it justice..but here’s one of the wave action and shore:
I copied this post from another I post on, but you can get the point!
